Finally, it’s here, the Linux-PAM 0.99 upgrade guide! Okay once again it’s still just a final draft, Josh hasn’t looked at it yet (you will, right sugar? :)) so the grammar is also probably quite off, but the flow should be mostly there.
I also started a PAM project page to track down the guide and the future documentation I’m still working on. I hope the introduction on what is PAM is clear enough for those lucky of you who never had to understand what PAM stands for and what it consists of.
The timeframe for stabling 0.99 series should be one or two weeks, depending on eventual trouble found during the official tests for this upgrade. In the mean time, if you are a brave poweruser, and you’d like to help, even if you run stable try upgrading to sys-libs/pam from ~arch, and tell me if there are problems with that.
The upgrade should be smooth, smoother of the pam-login removal, but you never know.
And for today I’m off again, working on PAM tires the hell out of me.
