Another little step for Gentoo/FreeBSD

Gentoo/FreeBSD logo by Marius Morawski

What is that? Well as the stage is now public, we’re getting new bugs on bugzilla, and that’s good,
Unfortunately not all packages can be made easily working, and for those I need upstream’s help.

xine-ui is the first problem. I’ll talk with upstream about this soon.

From the other side of the coin, FreeBSD 6.0-BETA1 is out, still I wasn’t able to find a ChangeLog for this as I’d like to read it to know what we need to change for 5.4.

Stephen is now working on a new stage with fixed missing packages and other misc fixes. I’m going to update the freebsd-sources ebuild to have a symlink flag as we have on Linux kernel sources.

app-text/ghostscript was replaced with app-text/ghostscript-gnu which works fine out of the box, so it’s now the default virtual/ghostscript provider with the other p.masked.
Unfortunately seems like kde broke and I’m now rebuilding xorg-x11 to see what happened. Also gamin seems not to work as it should.

Hope this get fixed soon.
