Today, release of 6.2-BETA1 was announced, which, for me, means that the work to get 6.2_beta1 in portage is started.
I’ve already committed the ebuilds for sys-freebsd, and the profile, but I didn’t add it to the profiles.desc, for the simple reason that this profile will use by default sys-apps/baselayout-1.13 rather than sys-freebsd/freebsd-baselayout, which means that as soon as 6.1 will go away also freebsd-baselayout will die with it.
The kernel I’m sure it’s working, as I’ve already built it (although initially I skipped the deadlock patch, luckily Unleashed already warned me on that), and I’m currently rebuilding gcc and binutils… emerge -e world on this box is going to take a long time, as defiant has half the world merged on it 🙁
I hope to get an experimental stage done soon… and that Daijo can be a developer to handle amd64-fbsd too 🙂
Yes, sandbox will have to work, too, but for that I need to prod portage devs a bit more.
