I already knew there was a wikipedia article about Gentoo/FreeBSD before, but I never paid too much attention to it. Today I was wandering through Wikipedia to research material about a thing I’m trying to write, and see GNU reference on that page… GNU? Something is wrong.
I start looking to the history, and an user that seems to be a Free Software paranoid^Wadvocate started considering Gentoo/FreeBSD a GNU-based operating system… can I say I hate people that suppose what they want about things? No Gentoo/FreeBSD is not a GNU variant, it’s a FreeBSD distribution. What you’re looking for is probably GNU/kFreeBSD, from Debian developers; there’s also a Gentoo GNU/kFreeBSD stage0 by Debian’s developer rmh, but there’s current nobody working on GNU/kFreeBSD on Gentoo.
So what’s the point of stating GNU-things about something you don’t really have a clue about, eh?
Sorry, I can’t really stand fanatics of any kind, I don’t really have problems with GNU project or with FSF. But don’t start labeling what I do with GNUs when there’s no point in it.
